We had met a nice older couple last night camped next to us, and they had filled us with some camping tips and wisdom. So, full of tips, and no early morning fishing trips, we had brecky and were on the road by 9:30.
We stopped in Pambula and picked up some morning tea and some fresh mini panini from a Bakery there for lunch. We started driving again, and were keenly looking out for somewhere nice to stop, and stumbled accross an oyster shed just south of Pambula called Broadwater Oysters. The shed was really crappy looking, and there were boats and oyster racks everywhere. But, they are the growers/distributors of oysters, and open the fresh oysters while you wait. These oysters were the best I think I have ever tasted, and at $10 for 1 dozen up there with the cheapest. We had a choice of small, medium ($10/doz) or extra large ($15/doz), the large were all exported. We opted for the medum, because they were still quite large:
Back on the road again, we knew the Victorian boarder was coming up soon so we pulled over in a rest area for lunch and to eat the fruits we had left.
We were planning to pull over at the boarder crossing and take some classic boarder photos. But, we came around a corner, and had passed the boarder sign before we could even slow down. BAM.. we were in Vic. No where to stop for photos anyway, so we continued driving and stopped at Mallacoota Foreshore Holiday Park. We did a bit of fishing, went to the beach for a swim and just relaxed..
