Ok.. So, the van's packed, the car's packed, house secured and its 1pm.. So much for our 9:30 departure. (Just have to remember to put the roof down - next time).
Heading south first, and noticed on the F3 we got a couple of wiggles from the caravan that had not happened before. I had placed some heavy tools and spares in the back of the van to balance extra weight we added to the drawbar and front boot. We stopped at the twin caltex's and moved the tools into the car, and it was perfect after that. Im surprised the 30kg can make that much difference...
With that sorted we hit the highway again. Pretty steady driving, and decided to have dinner in Kiama. We took the take away fish and chips to the blow hole overlooking the ocean. Because it was a Monday arvo, there was hardly anyone about.. its nice

Anyway, due to the late departure we only put away 358km, before we pulled out our trusty Camps7 book to check the nights accomodation. We quickly learned that most places close for bookings by 5pm... We decided just to go to Nowra Wildlife park reserve, and we got a spot right on the river. The caretaker said that the wombats often come to the vans and scratch themselves on it, so if the vans rocking in the night, thats likely the cause:)
We did see a couple of wombats grazing in a field..
